On Thursday 8th July, Huw Irranca-Davies MS visited Sheppards Pharmacy in Pencoed in his constituency to meet with local pharmacist Nathan Davies and the team:
Commenting on the visit, Huw Irranca-Davies MS said:
“Our community pharmacies have played an incredible role during the pandemic, and staff – like the team at Sheppards in Pencoed – have gone above and beyond to make sure people have the support and services they needed under the most challenging of conditions. But it is also great to see how our local pharmacies are constantly expanding their treatments and services, which is good for local people, good for our high streets, and good for helping relive pressure from the NHS too.
Nathan Davies, the pharmacist at Sheppards in Pencoed, said:
“In the week in which we celebrated 73 years of the NHS, it was good of Huw to visit us at Sheppards in Pencoed to see and learn more about the way in which community pharmacy is changing. In Pencoed, as in Llanharry or in most communities in South Wales with a high street, the community pharmacy remains a lynchpin of activity. By expanding the range of treatments available there, we keep the pressure off other parts of the NHS and deliver a close to home service that sustains many high streets.”
