On Friday 2nd July, newly elected Senedd Member Mabon ap Gwynfor visited Fferyllwyr Llyn to see first hand how the team there had coped with the Covid pandemic and was expanding its workload.
Commenting on the visit Mabon ap Gwynfor MS said:
“I was extremely impressed by the range of services being offered at Fferyllwyr Llyn, which really puts the ‘community’ into community pharmacy.
“Steffan John has won national pharmacy awards for his achievements as a pharmacist and as an innovator in technology. We are fortunate to have enthusiastic and ground breaking community pharmacists in Gwynedd who don’t just set the standard locally but are amongst the best and most forward thinking anywhere in Wales.”
Steffan John of Fferyllwyr Llyn in Blaenau Ffestiniog said:
“Mabon saw first hand the ever expanding range of services we offer, and pledged to help us raise relevant issues in the Senedd and with the local health board in relation to enabling community pharmacies to deliver a wider, more consistent and more modern range of services. We are in the front line of health provision of communities across north Wales.”
Judy Thomas, Head of Contractor Services at Community Pharmacy Wales, said:
“Community pharmacy is changing rapidly and Mabon appreciated what those changes might look like, especially the shared commitment across the whole community pharmacy sector and across all political parties to increase the number of independent prescribers. Within a decade we are committed to seeing one in every community pharmacy in Wales.”
