The Welsh Government is committed to eliminating hepatitis B and C as a public health threat by 2030 at the latest and all Health Boards have been asked to implement plans to aid WG in reaching this goal. The role of pharmacy is focused on detecting Hepatitis antibodies in individuals using Needle and Syringe Exchange and Supervised Administration services. Cardiff and Vale UHB and and Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB are currently piloting a nationally agreed service in their areas.
