On 11 November Mark Isherwood AM visited the Boots Pharmacy in Llanrwst to discuss the importance of using your local pharmacist and see the increasing range of services being offered there.
Commenting on the visit Mark Isherwood said: “The community pharmacy sector is expanding all the time in terms of the range of services it offers, bringing choice and flexibility to people in accessing their health care. I was particularly interested to understand how services are standardised in terms of access not just in North Wales but across the country as a whole, and I will be raising with the Welsh Government how some audiology services and some of those specifically offered to support young carers could take place in a pharmacy setting.”
Speaking for Community Pharmacy Wales, Judy Henley said: “This is an exciting time for community pharmacy in North Wales. We are currently working with Welsh Government to look at what an expanded pharmacy contract could look like, and we are pleased Mark was able to join us to see the real potential of expanding services to help the most vulnerable in society.”
